DEATH OF FREE TOURNAMENTS?

For some time, even a few years, large free tournaments have not been organized in Belgium. Indeed, tournaments such as « Belgium Open Freeroll » and others have deserted our poker rooms and have not reappeared, giving way to regular club tournaments.

Thanks to a partner of PokerGeek.be, we will try to set up a buy-in tournament of zero euro . Yes, a tournament all over Belgium, and free!
There are likely to be many players coming to the clubs and we have until May to put this structure in place.

The project

Thanks to our partner ARENA POKER CAMP , we already have the main prize worth 550 euros. This is a stay in Spain for the next Arena in Lloret del Mar. With the help of other partners and participating clubs, we will add additional prizes in order to have a pleasant « prize pool » (Lots) .

We invite Belgian poker clubs to organize a local first level and take the opportunity to welcome many players. Run your refreshments, and promote your club by attracting new players with this free tournament (Freeroll).

Conditions for organizers :

Level 1:

Each club can organize one or more tournaments between March 1 and March 31.
(Dates to be chosen in each club)
The goal is to allow players to participate in the event in their favorite club.
A player can only participate in one and only one times in the tournament, in qualification or final level.
His identity card will be required when registering for the tournament. In case of violation, the player will be automatically excluded from the tournament.
Subject to reservation, the final will take place in the hall of a playing circle. The hall will be accessible upon presentation of the identity card. Participating players must be over 21 years old and not be banned from the game room.

Tournament structure

After gathering all the results of the participating clubs, a regrouping will be carried out in order to determine the list of the best results.
The 40 best results will be retained for the final. (we could go up to 100, subject)
The tournaments gathering a greater number of participants, will allow to attribute more points to the players. It is normal for a player who won a 76 player tournament to be better qualified than a player who won a 10 player tournament (see table below)

NAME POSITIONKILLS
Jan Peteers 1 5
Pierre Granjean 2 2
Tim London 3 5

The list of selected players will be published on PokerGeek.be

How is the score per player calculated?

For each player, a score will be calculated based on:
– Their position in the tournament
– Number of players registered in the tournament

The score is calculated as follows:
= (SQR (Number of participants ) / SQR (Player position )) * 100

In the event of a tie, the highest number of « Kill » will be used. Then number of players participating in the tournament

Example 1: Tournament of 8 players, the winner with 283 points and 3 Kills

Example 2: Tournament of 26 players, the winner at 510 points and 5 kills

Example 3: Tournament of 76 players, the winner with 872 points and 10 Kills

Final example: Grouping of lists
